The foxglove and other plant works

The Post Graduate Diploma (PGDip) stage of the masters in fine art displays works made during previous months.
The works in the Foyer and the Studio space at Gray's School of Art include my past work reincarnated into another form.
The rose plucked from the trenches and the plants, unintentionally indicating the graves of lost soldiers. Charlock flowers glint of yellow among the blazing red poppies.
In the foyer, a polyptych of the Foxglove Digitalis purpurea in full glory accompanied by a presentation onscreen gives an insight into the current art forms and those to come. Below the process is shown.
The panels each made of ply are covered with either linen, jute or hessian, and primed with three layers of clear gesso. The underpainting and a sequence of oil paint layers were added later once dry.
Below are each of the panels as they were worked on in the studio at Grays School of Art.
