The depth of field was challenging when photographing the Sphagnum moss under the microscope today. The top row of small images are a selection of the photographs that were captured varying the depth of field, and then montaged using the clone stamp tool in Adobe Photoshop to create the larger almost totally in-focus rendition.
Although the image above gives an honest likeness of the moss. It is the stacked and layered almost glasslike rendition below that appears the most real, with the majority of the plant out of focus it seems true to life and even gives the impression of being filled with liquid as if just gathered from the moss bog...unliked the image above which in comparison appears to have empty chambers.
