Murray - preparatory sketch selected as a finalist piece for the Trinity Buoy Wharf Working Drawing Prize 2025.

The work was initially created in ink, linseed and oils in 2023 as a template for an oil painting of Murray and later amended in 2024 with additional sketching in graphite.

Utilising a digital microscope, I anticipate the abstract from images seen as a starting point for new works. It could be for a drawing, a monoprint, or eventually a painting as seen in Imelda - Soil Scientist, shortlisted finalist for the Scottish Portrait Awards 2024.
